I always love kicking off the season with the Hidalgos—it’s become a bit of a tradition, as they’ve been one of the first on my fall calendar for the past three years! They bring such a fun, relaxed energy to every session, which makes it easy to capture their kids just as they are—especially in the individual portraits. ☺️

This year, we met in Leesburg, where the wide-open spaces gave the kids plenty of room to run, spin, and jump with mom and dad. I’m pretty sure that was their favorite part of the day! For me, the best part of my job is watching through the lens as families genuinely enjoy being together and capturing those little in-between moments.

I’d love to know—which images speak to you most? The color or the black and white? The posed, the unposed, or maybe a mix of both? I’m always drawn to them all in different ways.
