Well folks! It’s that time of year again! The 2027 Trenchard Photography calendar is available for purchase! I had a HUGE year with lots of train chasing and lighthouse viewing, and it was a BANNER year for birding, all of which is reflected in this year’s edition!

I always keep my eyes on the future and you should too. This calendar will help! Organization brings calm, future plans fuel optimism, and remembering important dates can draw you closer to friends and family. And aren’t we sick of screens? Well i guess not if you’re reading this, but analog is cool again, so put pen to paper and look at some pretty pics!

I was able to keep pricing at $25 again, so get yours today, or pick one up for a friend as a gift! If purchasing isn’t in the cards, I understand, things are tough, a share on social media costs nothing and helps me beat this ridiculous algorithm I fight every year.

As always you guys are the best and I appreciate your support!

Creatures great and small (and REALLY small) seen over two dynamite visits to Huntley Meadows. But honestly, I don't think a bad visit is possible at Huntley. There's always something cool to see. Highlights from this set include some very photogenic tree frogs (including the celebrity blue frog), Green heron on the hunt, osprey fishing, and a saddleback caterpillar that I made sure not to touch!

All shot with my Canon R5 and RF 100-300 2.8 with 2x extender.

Some of these may make another appearance in the 2027 Calendar. which will be hitting the shelves shortly, so stay tuned!

When you get a cooperative subject in a scenic location doing all the bird things, you keep shooting. Great session with this green heron at McKee Beshers shot with Canon R5 and RF 600mm F/4L.

After a visit to McKee-Besher for the sunflowers last weekend, Ian, Nina, and I stopped at Homestead and checked out the wildflower patch. What a show! The goldfinches and hummingbirds were absolutely loving the Zinnias. Made for some beautiful photos. I will have links up shortly for ordering prints.

Once the shooting stops, the real work of editing begins! The case of UP "Big Boy" 4014 was as epic as anticipated. Here is the first "must have" location, Rockville Bridge in Marysville, PA. This spot is dear to me, because it was one of the first spots I truly rail fanned, and has been the site of lots of great times since then, besides being a gorgeous and iconic spot! The stars aligned and I was able to get these shots as it crossed the bridge. What a sight!

Shot with Canon R5 and RF 100-300 f/2.8L

Links to buy prints are in the comments for each image. More "Big Boy" shots coming up!

Ventured up to NJ yesterday to see the fireworks over Manhattan. The alignment didn't go exactly as planned photographically, but it was an amazing show and a great way to honor America's 250th. Spent the whole day up there so we saw the tall ship parade and flyovers, so stay tuned for those, just wanted to get a few images out before Americas 275th lol. They’re wide panos so make sure to click to see the full image.

Shot with Canon R5 and RF100-300 2.8.
