Our first book signing went great!!! It was so special to share “A Is For Edelweiss” in my home town at “The Blue Marble” bookstore. The staff there were so engaging and sweet, saying “hello friends” to everyone who walked through the door. Since it rained, the “garden party” was indoors which gave us a great opportunity to check out the amazing space which houses an eclectic array of all sorts of cool books.
We shared a table with Morgan Coleman who wrote, illustrated and published “This Cat Is Fat.” She was really fun to talk to and I learned a lot about cat cafes and self publishing.
I felt really supported having so many people show up including my high school friend Mitzi (who brought me a beautiful purple lily plant and encouraging card), my inspirational high school english teacher Mr. Keller and his wife, my friend Sarah from high school with her two amazing daughters and husband, my step brother Josh, his wife Courtney and one of their sons. Former Kentucky legislator Katie Stine and her husband also stopped by my table and bought a copy of our book!
The whole experience was a blur and went by so fast!
I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported this book and I’m especially grateful and proud of my Dad who inspired this whole project with his creativity!
I’m also grateful for my friend William for adventuring with me today and driving since the weather got a bit crappy on the way home!
A bit of exciting news too…Dad shared some new book ideas with me and I’m already working on sketches!!!
