I discovered a lovely, traditional French boulangerie-pâtisseries just a block from my spine surgeon’s office on the Upper East Side of Manhattan today called Birley Bakery and — after truly enjoying their apple tart and chocolate cake cookie — I am already quite impressed with the high quality of tasty offerings due to an obvious high respect for technique and high-end traditions.

I’m happy to see the folks who created the original Chelsea, England location of Birley Bakery considers New Yorker worthy of such bakery gems, and although I live a 45-minute drive away, any time I’m in this section of the Upper East Side I will make a point to stop in for more refined yumminess.

This signature Harlem Stew features oxtails and chicken — both seasoned with our newest Cheeseboro Kitchens™ Sand seasoning Harlem Sand™ then seared — smoked ham hocks, sweet potato, collard greens, blackened peas, lima beans, butter beans, red pepper, and scallions, all simmered in Harlem Sand™-seasoned water for nearly 2 hours.

(Our Harlem Stew service pictured is also served with cornbread stuffing biscuits seasoned with our Cheeseboro Kitchens™ Garden Sand™.)

We are awaiting the production samples of our signature, premium soul food seasoning Harlem Sand™ and expect to be able to take your orders for it within weeks. As well it will be our first new product to shipping directly through us and not (just) through Amazon.
