The heart of the name "Postcard Memories" goes back to my grandpa. My grandpa was a one-of-a-kind man, who loved his family more than anything in the world. He lived in Oklahoma, but he never failed to make me feel his love from miles and miles away. Between phone calls and letters, this man became my best friend, and that is something that I will cherish forever. But, what I received even more than letters and phone calls, was postcards from every state he would drive through (he was a truck driver). He would usually write something about the place on the back, and at the time it would feel like I was on the truck with him, seeing the places on the postcards first-person, rather than in a picture. It has been years since his passing, and it is his postcards that he sent that I cherish more than anything else. Those postcards bring back a piece of him that I now never have to lose. So, with this being said, I want my photographs to be like the postcards that my grandpa sent me all those years. I want them to be a reminder of the happy times, so that when things seem bad, or as if you have lost everything, you can still have the pictures to remind you of the happy times you have had. Sometimes pictures are all we have left of our loved ones, and we use them to remember. We use them to tell the next generation how things used to be, who their great grandparents were, or their uncle that was taken too soon, or for an insight on what was happening years previous. Pictures tell so many stories on their own, and I want to be able to provide people with pictures that they not only love, but ones they can cherish for years to come. There is my story behind why I love what I do, now let me tell yours.
