Emma Lee Creative

Doing good work for the greater Des Moines area and beyond. Founded in 2016. In August of 2016, that dream was realized, and I filed my company with the state.

My story starts in 2006, when I first took an interest in photography and graphic design after photographing a friend's concerts and getting my first taste of Photoshop. The spring of 2008 awakened a more intentional pursuit of photography, and 2010 brought about the decision to pursue it professionally. Through formal study from 2011 through 2017, I polished my skills as both a designer and a photographer. After I graduated from school in 2014, I began taking small steps towards owning my own business. I started out working for a large media corporation, followed by a small design firm, a startup and finally, I went out on my own as an entrepreneur in 2016. While the bullet points on my resume came from progressively smaller companies, my vision for my own company grew by the day. Although I considered many different career paths, I knew when I started school that I would eventually start my own company. As a creative professional, I believe in celebrating the work of my fellow creatives, near and far, and empowering the communities I'm apart of and serve. I believe that in life and in business, we are stronger when all of us thrive, from Madison Avenue to Main Street.
