A Birth Story.
I arrived at 10:30 that morning.
Mom was already 4 centimeters. Calm between contractions, but you could feel it—the quiet anticipation that today would be the day she met the little one she’d been carrying for months.
The hours that followed weren’t easy.
Each contraction demanded more of her. She gripped the bed, leaned into every wave, closed her eyes, breathed through the pain, and kept going. Again. And again. Strength isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like a mother who chooses to keep going when every part of her wants to give up.
Dad was there.
He held her hand, whispered encouragement, kissed her forehead, and reminded her she was never alone. Their love became another heartbeat in the room.
At 5:46 PM, after seven hours of courage, determination, and unwavering faith…
A cry filled the room.
The tears that had been from pain became tears of overwhelming joy. In an instant, every contraction, every moment of waiting, every ounce of strength led to this.
A brand new life.
Watching a family be born never gets old.
It’s raw.
It’s emotional.
It’s messy.
It’s beautiful.
What an incredible honor it is to witness these moments—not just the arrival of a baby, but the transformation of two people into parents, stronger than they ever imagined.
Congratulations to this resilient, faith-filled family. Thank you for trusting me to preserve the story you’ll tell for the rest of your lives. 🤍
