Attention storm chasers, weather nerds, and photography fans!

We’re heading to Wakita, Oklahoma Saturday for the Old Settlers’ Celebration.

We’ll have a vendor table featuring some of our favorite weather, storm, and nature photography, so come by, say hello, talk storms, and check out the images!

But I won’t be spending the whole day behind the table…

I’ll be out on Main Street around 11 a.m. photographing the storm chase vehicles on hand. If you’re bringing a chase vehicle to Wakita, I want to see it and I want to photograph it! Whether it’s a fully equipped storm chasing rig, a vehicle with some serious chase miles on it, or just something that looks the part, keep an eye out for me along Main Street.

And if you’ve ever wanted to talk storm chasing, photography, severe weather, or the stories behind the images, come find me at the JRBStorm Photography table.

Look forward to seeing you Saturday!

I had the opportunity to photograph AstroCon 2026 at Branched Oak
Observatory a few weeks ago and it was an incredible mix of space, science, comics, superheroes, and the paranormal!

Among the highlights were:
Clayton C. Anderson - NASA astronaut and Nebraska native
Bob Hall - comic artist
Nathanial Hamel - artist and illustrator
Marshall Parish - comic artist and creator
The 501st Legion - bringing a galaxy far, far away to AstroCon
The Cain Stevens Paranormal Super Show - adding a little paranormal fun to the weekend

Truly a fantastic event and a great setting for an event that had something for everyone!

"What does it really take to live the life of a storm chaser?"

On April 16, 2026, I shared photographs, lessons, adventures, and so much more as I covered my 25 year storm chasing career at Lincoln Nerd Nite in Lincoln, NE.

"That Storm Chasing Life" takes you behind the scenes of storm chasing. From the excitement of witnessing incredible supercells to the long drives, uncertainty, decision-making, and respect for the power of severe weather.
The presentation will feature some of my favorite storm, landscape, and sky images including an image that was named by Printique as one of the Top 100 images taken in the world in 2019 and won 2nd place in the 2022 American Meteorological Society's Photo Contest.

If you're fascinated by tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, meteorology, or just the sky in general, I hope you enjoy the journey I take you on!

Link to the video will be in the comments, enjoy!
