I recently went back to a commercial I filmed for “Future Explorer Academy”.
I wanted to see what was done well and what could be improved in the future to get more engagement from potential customers.
These five strengths come from the message itself and how it was delivered:
1) A personal, welcoming introduction
Margaret and Sarah introduce themselves and welcome viewers. This gives the academy a human identity and helps establish the warmth parents want from a childcare provider.
2) A clearly defined service
The commercial explains the ages served and mentions before-school care, after-school care, and summer camps. Parents can quickly recognize whether the academy fits their family’s needs.
3) Specific features that distinguish the academy
The garden, art and library facilities, playground, and meals incorporating homegrown vegetables give substance to its promise. These details make the academy more memorable than a commercial relying on general claims about quality.
4) Reassurance about parents’ biggest concerns
Low classroom ratios, parent-accessible livestream cameras, and attention to social and emotional development address supervision, transparency, and children’s well-being. These points help reduce hesitation about choosing a provider.
5) Practical information that supports a decision
Location details, sibling and occupational discounts, and hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. help parents evaluate convenience and value. The commercial connects its educational appeal with everyday family needs.
I’d strengthen the commercial in three ways:
1) Open with a stronger hook.
Start with a question that speaks directly to parents: “Looking for childcare where your child can learn, explore, and feel at home?” Then introduce Margaret and Sarah. This gives viewers an immediate reason to keep watching.
2) Connect the features to meaningful benefits.
Explain what each feature means for families: smaller classes allow more individual attention, the garden encourages discovery, and livestream cameras help parents stay connected. Support these messages with footage of teachers interacting with children and activities in progress.
3) End with a clear call to action.
Invite parents to “Schedule a tour and meet our team.” Display the academy’s name, website, phone number, and location on a readable closing screen. A specific next step helps turn interest into inquiries.
Let me know if you see any other ways to strengthen the commercial.
