Three things I wish every bride would tell her photographer before the wedding day.
After photographing weddings for years, I’ve learned that some of the most helpful things you can share with me have absolutely nothing to do with a Pinterest board or a shot list.
Tell me about your what matters most to you.
Who matters most to you? Who do you want to make sure I’m watching for throughout the day?
Tell me what you’re nervous about.
Maybe you feel awkward in front of the camera. Maybe there’s something you’re self-conscious about. You can tell me! You don’t have to know how to pose or what to do—I’ll help you through all of that.
And tell me how you want your wedding day to feel.
Do you want slow, quiet moments together? Lots of time with family? A packed dance floor? Do you want to be fully present and not feel like your entire wedding day is one long photoshoot?
Because my job isn’t simply to give you beautiful photographs.
It’s to pay attention.
To the people you love.
To the moments happening around you.
To the little things you may not even realize are happening.
Because years from now, I don’t just want you to remember what your wedding looked like.
I want these photographs to take you back to how it felt.
