Hey I’m Shelby 💛 I’m the gal behind Monnette Co
I’ve been photographing weddings since I bought my first DSLR back in 2010. I had no idea that buying that camera would launch me into a career I’m deeply passionate about. I’ve learned a lot over the years - I don’t have to take on every wedding, I don’t have to do it all, I’m not for everyone, I can ask for help, having a team is incredible for my mental health, there’s always room to learn and change, and so many more lessons to come.
I love hearing what people are excited about for their wedding. What family traditions they have (like a pink tutu IYKYK), what family dynamics there are, where they actually want to spend their time on their day, and leaning into what makes your wedding YOU. While I’ve photographed so many weddings - I haven’t photographed yours and heard your story yet. What you care about is important to me and I want to listen and tell the story of your day. I want to look out for grandpas watch, the surprise song you’re playing for your mom, the spicy pictures you’re going to surprise your spouse with, the clutch you’re making from your moms dress, the vows you guys wrote separately but actually sound like poetry you wrote together. I’m so so lucky that this camera brought me into rooms, into peoples lives, and allowed me to me an observer and story teller.
