Beautiful wreckage is a collection of mixed media works exploring the raw landscape of love, loss and heartbreak. Each piece layers, paint, collage, and handwritten text to capture the moments we rarely stay out loud – the knowing, the leaving, the asking why. These are paintings that feel like memories: vivid, fragmented, and achingly honest.

I have taken a break from painting, not purposely, but life sort of took over. I’ve been wanting to start again, but have felt very blocked. After a couple of conversations with friends and my therapist, I realize that part of my reason for being blocked is that rather than looking at my art as an expression of myself, I had started to look at it as something to sell, a product. Now don’t get me wrong, I still want to sell my work, but I have not been fully expressing myself in my work lately.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to create next and I know I’m going to put everything in me out on the canvas without fear of what people might think.

This piece was one I created some time ago when I was really experimenting and exploring and every time I come across a picture of it I’m reminded of why I paint.

I think I’m ready to get back to work. I hope you’ll follow along.

BLACK FRIDAY SALE -

Somehow it’s already been over two months since my last show. Time has that sneaky habit of sprinting the older we get, and wow. Thank you to everyone who came out, sharing new and familiar pieces with you was so fun. Truly a blast. I shared some pics below.

Work in progress — some paintings come together effortlessly, but others demand more time and patience. This one has been particularly tricky, asking me to sit with it, to let go, to detach from the outcome. Maybe that’s the lesson — that not everything needs to be resolved right away.
