Marc Harris is an internationally recognized wildlife photographer known for his extraordinary portrayal of wildlife in the “wild”. His depictions of nature, animal behavior and cycles of our natural world reflect a rare look at the biodiversity of life that exists in our worlds habitats and ecosystems. Marc grew up outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee hiking and exploring thousands of acres of unspoiled woodlands he called his backyard. This is where he felt comfortable, it’s where he trained himself to endure and remain in the wilderness, to track his way in and out, to understand the behaviors of wildlife and doing it all for the love of nature. It’s deep in the forests, swamps, marshes, woodlands, and mangroves where Marc spends most of his time photographing life in the wild. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s where the wild is truly “wild”. In pursuit of increasing the intensity of conservation efforts, Marc’s powerful imagery of wildlife and nature unveil the beauty, truth and reality of wildlife documented in privileged views and actions that you may never have the opportunity to see in a lifetime. Photographic art that is presented honestly, to heighten awareness and trigger an emotional understanding of why we must protect our worlds habitats and environment from threatening and irreversible loss.

“In nature I am there as a witness only. My work is to document the wonders of wildlife behavior, not manipulate it. I never touch an animal, move it or use baiting to draw them out. My passion is being part of the experience based on an honest story. When I get the shot, I feel I was rewarded by Mother Nature for allowing me to capture a special moment in time. When I don’t, I never feel a sense of failure because in truth, I gained something of value, I had the ability to be part of something higher… moments and events I will remember forever.”

Marc Harris lives in Southwest Florida with his wife, Alison and together they advocate for the protection of the environment and work with community leaders and NGO’s to help provide the public with education and awareness of nature and wildlife protection.
