Layla's Project to Fight Hunger

Layla's Project to Fight Hunger Layla crossed over the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly on Dec. 30, 2021. Her spirit will forever live i Layla was a special dog.

I am honoring her with a legacy project that befits her and her breed. Like most Labrador Retrievers, she is food-motivated, and she has always been hungry. No one should need worry about where their next meal will come from, yet there is a huge need for many people here in Pierce County. Please consider donating to her new cause using this link: https://nourishpc.org/campaigns/layla/

The Portrait Masters notified me recently that my portfolio was re-evaluated and I have achieved Master level. It is bittersweet that this picture of Layla from February 2020 was one of the ones that put my score over the top. Miss you, Layla. You changed my life so much.

Got it!

Betty has her part down and we’ve been working on lighting and camera settings. Our next PawPrints event for Layla’s Project to Fight Hunger (to benefit Nourish Pierce County Food Banks) is coming up on June 7. If, like Betty, your pet doesn’t like the idea of standing on our glass floor, we have other options. A Notre Dog Academy trainer will be there to assist.

Wow! We’ve raised more than $15,400 for the food banks and climbing. Feels so good to know Layla is still making a difference.

Oh, my sweet girl. How I miss you. It was two years ago today that I last looked into your beautiful eyes.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. You are in my heart, always.

I like to think that your life mattered. In your honor, we have raised more than $14,500 for Nourish Pierce County Food Banks to provide nutritious food and support services to people in need with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Only a little more to go to get to $15K. Let’s continue the fight.
