Celebrate Mother's Day by bringing the family to River Street and step aboard this USCG training vessel for this FREE tour. Hosted by the ship's crew, the decks are augmented by overwhelmingly friendly and welcoming local auxiliaries and volunteers. Not to be missed!

Last weekend proved Scottish weather CANNOT stop the Savannah Scottish Games! Rain may have soaked the field, but it never dampened the sound of bagpipes cutting through the drizzle or the spirt of athletes, musicians, and clans all clad in their colorful tartans. Festivalgoers embraced the weather, and the event still delivered an unforgettable atmosphere. Huge credit to everyone who came out, performed, competed, volunteered, and kept the traditions alive despite the rain!

🌅📸Tybee Pierhenge, Thursday, February 12, 2026. Wearing boots and wading in when the tide is low will still allow a sun view in the pier's "window". Even when the sun breaks the horizon well north of the pier, the angle of the rise will bring it back on target if shooting from a low angle as close to the end of the pier as possible. Be watchful of rogue waves and keep your camera out of the surf!!

🌅📸 Tybee Pierhenge, Winter 2026 lasted from about the middle of the first week of February to the middle of this past week, with a mix of good weather and bad. Photos here highlight Friday, February 6th, with my favorite being the wide angle shot with the pier reflection in the sand. The zoomed-in sequence shows just how fast conditions change. From the sun just peaking above the ocean to getting ready to exit the "window" was less than 10 minutes. Which one speaks to you???
