Story time! 5 years ago today, I had a DVT that led to a stroke due to a hole in my heart. I was engaged to be married in September, and thought my entire life was going to be put on hold since I had to learn how to walk again and talk again. In those early moments the first two days when everything was uncertain, I had accepted my fate if I wasn’t going to make it. I had to be life flighted twice to get to a hospital equipped to operate and remove the clot. To this day I still don’t remember that night leading up to the surgery. God clearly had other plans for me, and every year that passes since that day, I thank God for every blessing big and small that is my life now. I am married to the man who stuck by my side, and have two beautiful healthy babies that I didn’t think I’d ever get to have. I have a different perspective on life, love, relationships, and people, than I did before my stroke, and that’s why I love capturing those forever moments I see through photography.
