Most of us have things in our lives that excite us or make our heart beat just a little bit faster. Since I was about three and old enough to go hunting with my dad, I have loved the outdoors. Proverbs 12:27
tells us "...the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt." Like most of you, I look forward to all the preparations that go into hunting season. I get excited about the little things: bush-hogging, discing and planting green fields, emptying the rain gauge, checking trail cameras, finding sheds, looking for tracks, strategizing with my friends and family about the upcoming season, and even a little trash-talking about who's going to harvest the biggest trophy. Then, that day finally comes when I get to sit in the woods and rest in the quiet of God's creation. It's my "happy place"; it's my passion. But, in June of 2013, my family was introduced to a couple of missionaries serving in Mozambique, Africa, who care for orphaned boys living on the streets and rescue women trapped in human trafficking. That night a new passion was born inside me, and those incredibly devoted missionaries quickly became part of our family. For the last few years, I tried to think of a way I could combine these passions. How can I connect my love of the outdoors with my heart for missions to benefit the Kingdom and financially help support "the least of these"? This is when the vision for Tracks & Racks Outdoor Co.
