It was the end of their wedding reception, guests were leaving and family was packing up decor as I peeked outside to see a clear sunset. Right around their venue was all parking lot and industrial buildings, so I walked a half block down to a small patch of grass with the Butler water tower in the background and I said “this will work perfect”.

I went back to the venue to ask Ashton and Jennah if they still wanted sunset photos. They had just danced for a couple hours and it had been a long day so I’d understand if they just wanted to say their goodbyes and head out. Instead, Jennah’s eyes lit up and she said she’d love to take sunset photos. Ashton said he wanted to do whatever his new bride wanted to do (🥹). **Cue the happy photographer dance**

I LOVE LOVE LOVE sunset photos but I will never try to force a couple to do them. So when I have a couple excited to take them, especially after a long wedding day, I am pumped. These photos took 15 minutes max and they were so worth it. What do you think?

She thought they were celebrating three years together with photos. Instead, she left with a ring.

Every surprise proposal is a little different in how you pull off the proposal but this is one of the easiest ways. You know why? Because she’s not suspicious why you’re asking her to put in a nice dress, get her nails done and do her hair & makeup. Well…if you’ve been dating 3 years she’s going to be suspicious no matter what you do. However, Jackson had some tricks up his sleeve and planted seeds that he’d be proposing in the next few weeks. He told her it would be super weird to be hiring a photographer for a proposal and he didn’t plan to do that. 🤣

Story time!!! So I told myself “no more styled shoots” for the foreseeable future. I have already been to two this year (both hosted by ) and had already booked another for later this month. However, when the date for this one was approaching, the FOMO kicked in majorly. (I mean, come on, HORSES???). Also it was on my birthday and I can do what I want on my birthday right?

It worked out amazingly that Salina needed an associate shooter for her headshot station so I volunteered to do that for her in order to attend as a vendor. Salina even graciously built in time for me to slip outside and shoot some photos of the model couple. However, I had SUCH A BLAST doing the headshots for people (which I turned into full on branding sessions), that I only participated in about 15 minutes of shooting the model couple. These are the resulting portraits!! What a fun day I had. Thanks for having me, Salina!

Also, you may get a double post out of me today. 🙃 Too many other fun details to share.

Golf course couples photos at sunset? Absolute perfection. I will never NOT post these photos. It was the perfect combination for stunning portraits - exceptional weather, gorgeous backdrop, and a stunning head-over-heels-for-each-other couple. (Also I truly enjoyed meeting their wedding party & guests - such a COOL group of people). I’m forever going to be inspired by this wedding day.

This wedding I second shot for Allison of . Allison did all of the posing here, I got to capture different shots and angles for her. Did she not do incredible posing these two??? Thanks for bringing me along

How did I neglect to post a carousel of this stunning proposal atop the cliffs at Lake Harris? I guess I better make up for it now!

Luke did a fantastic job planning an amazing surprise for the day with twists and turns throughout the day to keep Lindsay on her toes. However, when the plans changed to ‘let’s have a quick drive down to Lake Harris’, which is a significant in their relationship, Lindsay was suddenly very suspicious (in the best way though!)

The proposal was perfection and then we headed down to the pavilion where family awaited them for a surprise celebration. It could not have been a more perfect afternoon!
