a few favs from the past few years

when you’ve been struggling for a long time, it gets hard to remember what feeling okay even feels like.

it’s like having a heavy weight strapped to your back that you never get to take off. everything takes more effort. then you’re wondering why you’re so exhausted when it feels like you barely did anything.

then somebody asks where you see yourself in five years, and the reality is you’re just trying to get through the next few hours. it’s hard to think ahead when today takes everything you’ve got.

i know hearing “it gets better” gets old. you need something to actually change. you’ve been trying, and you’re tired. but feeling this way for a long time doesn’t mean you’ll feel this way forever.

there can still be a day where you catch yourself laughing and realize you haven’t thought about the pain in a while. you’re just happy to be there. after everything you’ve been through.

i want you to have that. to enjoy your life again instead of just getting through it.

if you’re at that low point, let somebody know my dude. even if you’ve been telling them you’re fine. your friends want to help you, i promise.

give yourself a chance to see what else your life can be.

i want you around for the days you’ll be glad you stayed.
