While I love a beautifully posed and timeless family portrait, some times the best moments are the ones in between. The laughter when someone inevitably brings up some potty humor, the way mom looks at her kids when she thinks no one’s watching, the big bear hug that pulls everyone in a little too tight.

That’s what I love most about family sessions; they’re not about perfection, they’re about connection. About slowing down long enough to feel this season of life, the one that’s flying by way too fast.

The leaves are turning, the air is just right, and there’s still time to capture your family exactly as you are right now!

Recently a mama told me she almost didn’t book because life felt too hectic... the kids growing faster than she can keep up, fall flying by in a blur of school events, and sports.

But when we finally met for her session, the world seemed to slow down for a bit. The leaves had just begun to turn, the air was crisp, and the kids ran and laughed while she took it all in.

That’s what these sessions are for: pressing pause long enough to capture the real smiles, the little moments, the way they are right now.

Fall isn’t gone yet. It’s actually just arriving!
And there’s still time to capture it.

For their wedding anniversary Meg and Jim decided to treat themselves to a date night of a portrait session of just the two of them. I'm absolutely in love with this couple and their relationship and so proud of them for taking the time to do something special for themselves.
It's really easy to get wrapped up in just being Mom and Dad and it's important to remind ourselves of who we are as a couple outside of being parents. And what a GIFT for our children to see photos of their parents in love.
These type of sessions absolutely get me fired up! But to get to do a session like this with Meg and Jim? That's just next level! Congrats on 16 years, friends! You all, and the love you have for one another, is truly beautiful.

My favorite part of the country is Western North Carolina and we've vacationed there multiple times. I've wanted to do something to help the communities and I've been presented with an opportunity.

I'm offering deeply discounted headshot sessions on October 10th from 10 AM - 2 PM to raise funds for those affected. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to individuals in need of supplies.

I get it - your life is insanely busy and teens aren't exactly thrilled to take family photos.
