This female ruby-throated hummingbird was resting on a branch, calm but alert. Even sitting still, her tiny frame and delicate features make you pause, there’s so much life packed into such a small bird.

Though she lacks the male’s bright ruby throat, her subtle plumage provides perfect camouflage. In many species, males flaunt vibrant colors to attract mates, while females remain understated, a pattern seen in cardinals, too.

Hummingbirds may be small, but they are marvels of nature: capable of hovering, darting, and migrating incredible distances. Even at rest, they embody agility, strength, and the intricate balance of the wild.

This is a ‘Eastern Carpenter Bee’

This Eastern Carpenter Bee is one of the first I managed to get a picture up close using macro.

One thing I didn’t know about the Eastern Carpenter Bee, is that the males don’t do not have stingers, while the females do, this means that the males are all show and no bite.

Carpenter bees don’t have a lot of predators but, they do have a good amount. A few predators that Carpenter Bees have are, Birds, Honey Badgers, and invertebrates like Robber Flies, Bee Flies, and Large Headend Ants.

A silent hunter at work.

I photographed this black widow webbing up her prey, a moth that wandered to close to her web. Her web was perfectly placed near a tight area with some lights, a perfect place for a clumsy moth.

Now I do not suggest getting this close near black widows as they are very venomous, one bit from a single black widows can cause serve muscle cramps, pain, but is pretty rare for fatalities in healthy adults. Even though it’s not fatal, its venom is about 15 times that of a rattlesnake venom.

This is a shot that I managed to capture of our galaxy the Milky Way. The two photos are of the heart of the galaxy, also called the Galactic Center, this is where the black hole Sagittarius A is located, this is also the center of our galaxy.

The photos are captured in color and also in monochrome. I use color to showcase all the different colors from the gases inside of the galaxy. I use monochrome to showcase the details of the galaxy, like texture, and all of the hidden parts that you can’t catch in color shots.

Even tho we don’t know for sure on how galaxies are made we do have many theories that are all backed with evidence making it a great mystery.

These were taken in Oklahoma inside of a Bortle Class 1, which is based of how much light pollution affects the visible sky, ranging from Bortle 1 to Bortle 9. Bortle 1 is the absolutely lowest class there can be in the light pollution scale.

This unusual plant is a Persian Silk Tree, and the fluffy little cluster of strands, kind of like a pom-pom, is actually its flower.

The Persian Silk Tree’s flowers aren’t just for show; they open in the evening and release a sweet, almost honey-like fragrance to attract night pollinators like moths.

The Persian Silk Tree, which is native to Asia, is often planted for its beauty and sweet fragrance, but in some areas, it has also earned a reputation for being invasive. This one is located in my backyard, which is sadly not native to Oklahoma, but I take actions to make sure it doesn’t overpower my native plants and animals, and that it doesn’t spread into more areas and stays contained within my yard.

A little photo I took of a carpenter bee and I tried at a different angle to get the sky in the background which I really love the look it gave because of the clouds on the background of the sky and that’s one that I love about macro is that it brings the background closer in which can really work very well when used in the right area.

This is not AI and everything of the image is real and there was no AI used in any making of any part of the image. This includes the subject and the background.

A macro shot up close of a beautiful Hackberry Emperor also know by their scientific name of, Asterocampa celtis. This butterfly is a native to North America and it belongs to the brushfooted butterfly family, Nympalidae. It gets its name from the blackberry tree, Celtis which is where it lays its eggs and this tree is also the only host plant for the butterfly.

This little fella was also very still and calm while I was taking pictures and was allowing me to get close to it and try different shot types and angles to better identify the species and its patterns.

Macro shot I got of a carpenter bee sitting on a stick. Sadly this one was slowly passing as his eyes were starting to break down and his flight was also taken. I don’t know if it was a parasitic issue or just old age.
