PHOTOGRAPHERS! Is this in your contract?

The topic of us eating at weddings… somehow still controversial. I’ve heard it all.. that we can “just wait” until every guest is served, then rush through the buffet line carrying 20 pounds of camera gear with one free hand while someone’s uncle jokes, “Wait, you get to eat?!”

Meanwhile we’re working 8–10+ hour days on our feet, constantly moving, carrying equipment, problem solving, and documenting one of the biggest days of your life.

Adding this to your contract so clients understand that taking care of your vendor team matters. When your photographer, videographer, planner, etc. are given a proper meal and a few minutes to breathe, they can actually continue showing up fully focused, creative, and energized for the rest of the night!

I remember a time when this wasn’t in my contract, make sure to add it to yours! 🎞️

As we settle into this season, I’ve been thinking a lot about how quickly these everyday moments pass us by, the dinners, the laughter in the backyard, the quiet kind of joy that doesn’t ask for attention but means everything. We’re so used to reaching for our phones to capture it all, but being in the photo is a different kind of memory.
