I’m Marite, the human behind Moonlight Photography. I made this post so you can get to know who I am, how I experience the world, and what drives my work.
If I could describe my perfect day, it would look something like this: strolling a city, observing its historic architecture, and stepping into a local museum for hours. Grabbing a coffee and a bite to eat at a cafe to people-watch with my family. Stepping in and out of art galleries as the afternoon passes, and finally, when the sun goes down, sitting at a beautifully lit restaurant for an incredible dinner and the perfect martini.
I’m a massive film person—foreign cinema especially. Any movie, book, or piece of art that forces an intense feeling or a complex thought stays with me. I unapologetically borrow visual cues from all of it when I’m behind the camera.
That’s really the foundation of how I approach weddings. It’s never just about documenting what’s in front of me. It’s about the heart of the couple, atmosphere and mood. I believe that great wedding photography is a blend of art and heart—you don't have to pick one or the other.
