Oh, Mily! I don’t even know where to begin. You have one of the most infectious laughs & I have loved getting to watch you become who you are today over the past few years.

My takeaways from family sessions:

1) ANYONE involved in a family session should be awarded an Olympic medal. I mean ANYONE. Parents, kids, photographers. Everyone gets a medal. 😂

2) You just can’t ask kids yes or no questions. It’ll be a no. Every time. Give them options to pick from! And letting them take some pics gets them way more comfortable with smiling in front of the camera (see the evidence below of a great up-the-nose shot 😂).

3) Most importantly… Family is so special. I adore watching how strong family bonds are. Watching little sis just grin while watching her big brother play? Melt. My. Heart. 🥹

Kristal & Jake, you have the most beautiful family & I loved every second of capturing your love for each other 🤍

I don’t know if there’s anything better than pure joyous laughs from a happy child. There’s just something so infectious about it, and thank goodness we were blessed with a whole lot of it this weekend!

I’ve started to write this post probably a million times and never get very far because I can’t find the right words to accurately express how thankful I am to be part of this family. God knew exactly the kind of people I needed in my life, and I feel so lucky to know and love them.

But also… There’s something very humbling about learning to take your own family pictures and also editing pictures… with yourself in them 😂
