Incredible drone shot of the new park in Sapulpa that flooded today. We got quite the downpour all day!

Sometimes things don't work out the way they're supposed to. I was in Colorado yesterday for what I was hoping was a relaxing and fun vacation that quickly turned into a nightmare for several reasons. I'll spare the details but after flying home today I realized I managed to capture this lovely photo in Garden of the Gods. Originally I was annoyed I was rerouted through a portion of the park by my GPS on route to a different location, but seeing it now makes me realize sometimes "mistakes" can be beautiful. Enjoy the little things.

Tonight’s First Quarter Moon was absolutely beautiful! It was crisp, bright, and glowing perfectly over Hunter Park. 🌙 I had a great time capturing it with my Seestar S50 during the Tulsa Astronomy Club event. It was wonderful meeting so many new people who share a love for the night sky, and I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next event. I even spotted a bald eagle flying over the park tonight, although I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of it! Clear skies! ✨

Last night I captured the beautiful Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) with my Seestar S50! Even with very windy conditions, I was still able to get about 20 minutes of imaging time on this incredible interacting galaxy pair located roughly 31 million light-years away. Pretty amazing what can be revealed in such a short exposure from right here on Earth. 🌌✨

Happy International Astronomy Day! Took this beautiful pic of the Milky Way in September 2025 (: 🔭🌌

Messier 78 (M78) is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Orion, about 1,350-1,600 light-years away, known for its blue glow from dust reflecting the light of nearby young stars. It's part of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex and is visible in small telescopes as a hazy patch near Alnitak, the easternmost star in Orion's Belt, and is a popular target for astrophotography.
