I think I could compile an entire album of Melanie being a photographer's child... she is such a fearless and accepting little soul--she will join in on anyone's pictures given the chance... but this is one of her little BFFs from dance, so she was all about it in her recital makeup.

You may see this and think, “what’s so special about a hug?” Well, Curtis isn’t a typical man, and he doesn’t always want to be touched.
In fact, Deborah and Curtis are both incredible people who have looked at odds and statistics and told them to kick rocks. The love Deborah shows for her son everyday is so raw and beautiful.

Ya'll. This couple was SO precious. I couldn't tell you how many "get you one who looks at you like this" moments I captured because I stopped counting at 7. The love this family exudes is bursting from the seams! We all had a blast frolicking in the leaves while watching the sky turn golden.

One of the unexpected highlights from doing Christmas minis over at Woodward Park was having this cute trio stumble upon me (while I was wrapping up another family, and my next client had canceled last minute)... and if you know me, you already know that I was the OOOHHHHH HUSKY PUPPY when they were well over 100 yards away😂 (I was also correct in guessing 12 weeks! Sweet little velociraptor😍)
Alicia Guillory and Moore (who I absolutely could not find to tag!) were a pleasure to get to meet and photograph; you'd think meeting some random, camera wielding woman (and her camera wielding four year old!) would put most into an awkward state to say the least... they were so kind and laidback! We chatted for a bit, and we all had a good few chuckles as the star of the show tried to devour Beary Santa🎅☠

It's been right on the nose of two weeks since I shot my community give back Christmas minis. I've been working on getting everything just right, and finding my own groove. I truly enjoy being able to provide people who could have possibly not had Christmas photos taken the opportunity to have a few moments immortalized.

This sweet boy was NOT having it during a few moments of our time together, but between mom, dad, Melanie and I, we got some priceless moments caught. Desere Sparacino

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope that everyone had the day that they wanted.

My family had a small dinner just the three of us (well, the dogs got snacks the whole day😂). My small victory for the day was I made cranberry sauce from scratch and DIDN'T mess it up like the last time I tried.

If I owe you Christmas Mini photos, those will being sent out tomorrow. I had planned on doing them today, but I opted to spend the time with the family. The lab I use (and the ones I recommend) will be having their Black Friday sales running through the weekend, so there will be plenty of time to still use the photos and take advantage of the sale prices on customized cards.

Now onto Christmas!! 😍🎄

I think one of the most wonderful things that I've learned with each click (and there has been A LOT) is that I am teaching Melanie that she can do anything that she wants to... my daughter is fearless and truly believes that she can do just about anything, and I'm not sure there's anything better to experience as a parent. Yes, she still is afraid of the dark, and she HATES loud noises (except fireworks)... but she isn't afraid to try anything, to dance like it's just a little dance party for the two of us, to climb the tree. "I can't" isn't a big part of her vocabulary (unless we're talking about eating an overly ripened banana), and I honestly believe that may be one of my biggest accomplishments as a momma so far.

Last weekend while Melanie and I did Christmas minis at Woodward Park, Melanie took joy in sitting and watching this little guy for about ten minutes. I'm by no means a wildlife photographer, but when the four year old wants a photo of the squirrel, you take a picture of the squirrel. I will admit he got closer than I think any squirrel I've ever encountered; brave little dude!
