I spent the evening yesterday with my baby niece, taking pictures of her and her four friends for a 16th birthday shoot. We visited the Wheeler District which has a row of houses that are pastel colored and then we went to the Botanical Gardens, both in OKC. These young ladies were a lot of fun.

I've noticed in the mornings that we have several birds (cardinals, bluejays, starlings, woodpecker, etc) & squirrels in the backyard. Our backyard is small but it butts up to 5 neighbors and most have lots of trees lining the fences. I mentioned to Nathan Hauglund wanting to make our own birdseed mixture (that store bought mixture is expensive) and making some feed spots for them in our yard so I can sit and get pictures. So we went to Atwoods and Home Depot and got bird seed, some cracked corn, black sunflower seeds and 5lbs of peanuts in their shells and then some wood. Nathan came home and got to work on the squirrel stand and one for the birds. I woke up around 8 this morning and sat outside in the chilling morning for an hour and got to watch the male cardinal find the squirrel stand and then the squirrel found it. He defended this stand for about 45 minutes.
Today was the first time I heard and saw the woodpecker, I noticed we've got two sets of cardinal pairs, a Jaybird, Robin, Starlings and even a Hawk showed up this afternoon while Nathan was up and taking pictures. The baby squirrel on the ground was cracking me up, hopping small hops across the backyard of our neighbor. He found one of the shelled peanuts I threw into the yard. A lot of the birds and squirrels hang out in this big open yard, I'm hoping when the new owners move in they don't have a bunch of dogs that will run them all off.

Yesterday Nathan Hauglund and I went to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve and enjoyed driving the Bison loop. They were out in several spots and we even caught some deer and a few birds while enjoying the nice weather. Here are a few of the shots I took and Nathan will post some of his later. It felt good to have the camera in my hands again as I've been doing more of the editing of our shoots lately and Nathan has been taking the pictures.

Pink is about to be the color of the week! 🎀

We are officially on baby watch for this glowing momma. I’ll be heading to the hospital in the next week or so to document her baby girl’s very first "official" photos.
