If you know me personally, you know my friends don’t usually stay "just friends"… they become my family. Even the ones I don’t talk to every single day still hold a huge place in my heart.
For over ten years behind the camera, I’ve had the honor of witnessing some of life’s most beautiful moments—proposals, weddings, births, babies, seniors… the milestones that make up a life. So many of those moments have been with my own family and the family I’ve chosen along the way.
But I’ve also stood in the middle of heartbreak. The kind of moments that take the air out of your lungs. The kind you don’t have words for—only prayers. The kind where you have to lean fully on Him, because He’s the only one who can carry you through the weight of those sessions.
A few weeks ago, Mike and I stood beside one of my longtime friends and her family as they shaved their four-year-old son’s head, just weeks after he was diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma. A rare and aggressive form of cancer. Four years old. Lives changed instantly.
There is nothing you can say in moments like these. No words big enough. Just presence. Just love. Just holding them together in whatever way you can. Praying over each and every moment.
And while my heart felt the weight of it all… what I saw that day was something I’ll never forget—bravery beyond comprehension. Strength that, without God, couldn't possibly make sense. A sense of peace that could only come from someone bigger than all of us.
Baker may be standing in front of a giant that no child should ever have to face—but he is not alone. We serve a mighty God who goes before him, stands beside him, and will carry him through every step of this fight.
Bekah has been holding tightly to a verse, repeating it over and over, and it’s stayed with me since the first time she said it. I want to share it for anyone who might be walking through something heavy right now:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Whatever battle you’re facing today, I pray this meets you right where you are—and speaks peace into the places that need it most.
God bless🎗️🤟🏽
Brave like Baker
