Homegirl just said IDGAF about rehearsal or what we’ve practiced and went OFF. (Ignore the clapping 💀 it stops)

and are married. What a full circle moment from meeting Cameron years ago, the journey of working together, and then I met Sally and instantly felt so connected to her. To say that I was excited to shoot this for them is an understatement. I don’t shoot weddings anymore, but I will for family; that’s what this crew feels like.

HUGE shoutout to .co for covering the reception so Ian and I could celebrate with them. And to for being the most ON TOP OF IT wedding coordinator I’ve ever worked with. What a day!

issue 7 is now available to download in e-reader or spread format. Purchasing a physical copy will be available soon. This issue is our most art & photography focused issue to date.

When flipping through the pages, you will see fractals, light leaks and unique geometry. One of the things I love the most about playing with light is that we can draw the eye to a new perspective, outlook or viewpoint that not everyone may see. The light can draw us in, it can escape us, it can pull us closer and push us away.

The flow of the featured works is color blocked to play with light and perception the way alot of these pieces do. It’s simple, but brings focus to the subject. The subject matter is experimental with portraiture, double exposures, mirrorings, and landscapes. The palette reminds me of a dark room and film negatives: golds, dusky purples, and muddy blue. It’s tactile and cinematic. It feels as if we developed a mystery roll of film that we found in an old camera. It yields to the subject matter and it feels honorable and fever-dreamy.

Sometimes what’s most honest in an image is what refuses to stay still. I love tiny, little rebellions against uniformity and structure; that is a hill I will die on. They remind us that beauty often comes from the unplanned. At times, enjoying the flaws is the only way to survive because accidents can also be beautiful (just ask my mom-I turned out a-okay).

Welcome to Issue 7. Let a little light in.
