Most of my subject matter is from the Arizona Sonoran Desert. My landscapes are images from some of my favorite places in the world. I have lived near the Pima Canyon wash since 1973. Many of my images are taken in the desert near my home in Tucson. I also enjoy taking photos around the beautiful state of Arizona. Favorite subjects include bobcats, Salt River wild mustangs and raptors and other bi

rds in the area. As a professional musician I have backed up Ray Charles, The Moody Blues, Sammy Davis Jr., Johnny Mathis, Bernadette Peters, Frankie Valli and Kristin Chenoweth. I have performed with the traveling Broadway productions of Wicked, Lion King, Book of Mormon, The Producers, Chicago, Westside Story, Sister Act, Cabaret, Oklahoma, Music Man and My Fair Lady. Back-to-school season is not only for families with students. It changes the rhythm of entire communities.

Schedules tighten. Evenings get shorter. People start thinking about focus, routines, and the spaces where daily life happens.

That makes August a useful time to look at your walls with fresh attention. "Backstare" may be the kind of work that helps a room feel more intentional as the season shifts.

I'm seeing a lot of artists celebrating World Photography Day today and wanted to join in on the appreciation!

It's a celebration of the way artists preserve moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Every work of art begins with the same simple act: paying attention.

Artists notice the light, the atmosphere, the emotion, the relationships, and the everyday moments that many of us walk past without a second thought.

"Broad-billed flyer" is part of that tradition. Thanks for taking a moment to reflect with me today.
