College students and young professionals: how’s your LinkedIn photo looking?

Research shows that we begin forming impressions of someone’s likability, trustworthiness and competence after seeing their face for just one-tenth of a second.
So yes, your LinkedIn photo matters!
And this is one of the few mini-session options I offer: a short, easy studio session designed to get you a polished, professional headshot without making it a whole production.
We’ll pay attention to the things that actually make a difference, like expression, posing, clothing, lighting and framing, while still making sure you look like you, not some overly corporate version of yourself.
This is perfect for college students, recent grads, interns and young professionals who are ready to retire the cropped vacation photo!

One of my favorite things about working with branding clients with an ongoing plan is that we get to keep building on what we’ve already created, and my good friend Paula is a perfect example!

Paula comes back to me about once a year for updated headshots and branding photos, and because she’s active on social media, we’re always thinking beyond just a new headshot. What can we create this time that feels fresh, gives her variety, and works for the way she markets her businesses?

Over time, that means we’ve built a whole library of images that feel like her.

This was genuinely one of the most interesting branding sessions I’ve photographed — and that’s saying something!
This author’s publisher reached out to me to create a versatile collection of images for his brand: portraits, candids, lifestyle images, and details that help tell a bigger story. And his personal story, spanning decades and locations all over the world, was fascinating.
We photographed everything at his home here in Tucson, which gave us the perfect setting to create images that felt personal, unique, and interesting.
I’ve photographed quite a few authors over the years, and while I enjoy capturing their headshots, I really love these more extensive branding sessions. An author needs more than one great headshot — having a catalog of images gives you so much more to work with for your website, social media, book promotion, speaking engagements, press, etc.
There’s much more I could say about him and the story behind this session, but I’m going to leave it there for now – you’ll be seeing more of him! 🌎✨
