Everyone tells me the same thing before we start.

“I’m not photogenic”
“I’m awkward”

Then I turn the camera around.

I’m not making anyone photogenic. I’m just holding up a mirror and showing you what was already there. Most of us have just never been shown it before.

You don’t have to believe it yet. Just come find out.

My drug of choice is photography, and I have tried to quit more times than I can count.

But if a marriage that nearly took me out, and moving across the country to completely start over, didn’t stop me — I guess this really is what I’m meant to do. It hasn’t always been easy. But nothing has pushed me to grow more than this has. Sometimes purpose gets a grip on you and never lets you go.

So no, I’m not in recovery. And honestly, I don’t think I should be.
