Burrowing owls are tiny, chaotic geniuses with about 12 personalities packed into one fluffy body. One minute they’re standing tall like they own the desert, the next they’re sprinting around like they forgot where they left their snacks.

Maybe the secret is just owning every version of yourself, just like the burrowing owl. đŸ€Žâœš

“The sticks and stones that you used to throw have built me an empire” -Bring me the Horizon: Throne

That line hits different in real life because the pain people throw at you can either crush you or create you.

Every insult, every doubt, every betrayal, every moment someone tried to make you feel small, it all becomes material for growth when you refuse to stay broken. The criticism becomes motivation. The setbacks become lessons. The struggle becomes strength.

Sometimes your greatest advantage comes from surviving what was meant to destroy you.

“Walk your own path. The right people will keep aligning.”-Hiral Nagda

Out here, the sky burns without apology, then cools into silence. No distractions, no noise, just a quiet agreement between the sun and the horizon. Everything must let go eventually.

Maybe that’s the lesson hidden in all this emptiness. There’s beauty in release, in slowing down, in allowing things to fade exactly as they’re meant to. Nothing real is ever truly lost
it just changes form. 🌅

Great horned owl babies don’t enter the world as fearless hunters. They start small, unsteady, and completely dependent, tucked high in a nest, blinking at a world they don’t yet understand. Long before they ever learn to fly, they leave the safety of the nest, wobbling onto branches, gripping, slipping, and trying again.

You don’t have to be fully ready to start moving forward. You don’t need perfect balance, perfect timing, or perfect confidence. Growth often looks like awkward steps, uncertain progress, and quiet persistence when no one’s watching.

Stay patient with your process.

“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.” - Abraham Maslow

An Acorn Woodpecker doesn’t question the tree. It just shows up, taps, listens, and tries again. Each strike is a quiet act of faith that something unseen is worth the effort.

Life feels a lot like that sometimes. Repetition. Noise. Little proof that anything is changing. But beneath the surface, something is always giving way.

You don’t need a new tree.ïżœYou don’t need a different beak.ïżœYou just need to keep knocking until the life you’re building finally echoes back. 🌳

“Someone out there would love to live your worst day”- Jay Shetty

I’ll admit it
I’ve been slacking on my sunset photography lately. Truthfully, I’ve found a lot of joy photographing the lesser seen parts of Arizona because in that space I found room to experiment, to slow down, and to see differently. It pulled me away from the rhythm of golden hour and I didn’t mind it.

But this
this felt like coming home.

First light with my new Sony A7RV, and suddenly I’m right back where it all began, standing still, watching the sky catch fire.

“I lost a lot of people when I found myself”.- Nikki Rowe

Sometimes life pulls you away from the noise, the crowds, the familiar voices and suddenly, you’re walking alone. At first, it feels like something is missing. Like you took a wrong turn or got left behind. But solitude has a quiet purpose. It strips away the expectations, the distractions, and the borrowed paths, leaving you with nothing but your own thoughts, which is where something real begins.

Much like this deer, when you walk alone, you start to hear yourself more clearly. What you want. What you’ve outgrown. Where you’ve been pretending to belong.

Not every lonely road is a mistake. Some are necessary detours leading you back to yourself, so if you find yourself walking alone right now, don’t rush to escape it. There’s something here you’re meant to discover and when you do, you won’t just know where you’re going, you’ll know why.

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.”- Mahatma Gandhi

Morning dew clings to each blade in this quiet maze. Every droplet holds a fragile reflection of sky, of light, of everything passing by. Walking through, you realize the maze was never meant to trap you. It was meant to slow you down.

We spend so much time trying to find the way out, but maybe the point is to notice how the light bends, how the small things gather meaning, and how even the most temporary moments can feel infinite if you’re willing to stand still.

By noon, it will all be gone. No trace, no proof. Just the memory that something delicate once existed here.

Swipe to see a kingfisher in action!

Some birds feel less like sightings and more like milestones. The kingfisher has been on my bucket list for a long time and it took more patience than I expected to finally find them, but here we are!

Their tiny size and incredible speed were humbling to say the least. Here in Arizona, the Belted Kingfisher is one of the most commonly found species and are largely characterized by their blueish-grey color and shaggy appearance. Females are often more colorful than males and feature a rusty belly band in addition to a blue-grey breast band. 🐩

Yesterday’s lunar eclipse was truly one for the books. I had to head out for work at 5am, so I’m a little late sharing my shots, but here’s my small contribution to the sea of incredible images you’ve probably already seen. I’m also putting together a timelapse from the night, and if all goes well, it should be ready sometime next week. đŸ€™đŸ»

On a more personal note, if you’ve been following my journey for a while, you know that deep space astrophotography has been a huge part of my creative life. It’s actually what sparked my passion for landscape and wildlife photography in the first place. Spending long nights under the stars taught me patience, planning, and how to chase light in its most subtle forms.

But seasons change.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to step away from deep space work, sell off my astro gear, and fully commit to landscape and wildlife photography. This wasn’t an easy decision. I genuinely love astrophotography, but over time, it stopped pushing me creatively. What once felt inspiring began to feel routine.

Right now, I’m craving growth. I want to lean into the unpredictability of wildlife, the ever-changing moods of weather and light, the challenge of telling stories through the landscapes around me. I want to explore more, experiment more, and create work that feels alive and evolving.

To everyone who’s supported my astrophotography over the years, thank you!
