Y’all. Pennelys and Timo are doing a frybread pop up at the historic Y till 8:30. This is not an ad, I just thought I’d be doing you a disservice by not letting you know. I had been helping on a story about frybread recently so I was craving it and this really hit the spot!!!

Seems we’ve been getting a lot of bad news about local restaurants closing recently but here is some REALLY GOOD NEWS, after almost 2 and a half years Crossroads finally reopened and it looks better than ever. The hidden mural is still there and they added this front patio expansion to remind folks of when they were a Drive-In. This is not an ad, I just love their food.

I remember a time when I used to never see roadrunners in the Dunbar Spring neighborhood. Now they’re here all the time running over cars and eating lizards. It makes me so happy.

I have seen A LOT of weird stuff in Tucson but I have never seen a live chicken riding on someone’s handlebars, across from Popeyes no less! I love it here.

Raul Grijalva, November 28, 2013. A reminder of this photo popped up yesterday. For a good stretch I’d see him in this spot frequently. Drinking coffee and reading the paper. Always chill, always kind, always down to earth, RIP. I took this photo before I was doing this project but looking back, I just didn’t have a name for it yet. Hope you all are enjoying time with people you care about. Remember, it doesn’t last forever.
