Last July I participated in a styled shoot with my mentor, . This shoot was so special to me. I look back at these photos often. Alejandra and Ruben have a special unwavering kind of love. I did not pose them, but I enhanced certain emotions by prompting them. One of my favorite photo prompts is, “look at each other and think of the moment you knew you loved each other.” This prompt has always worked for me. Whenever possible, I try to avoid posing people. My goal is always to enhance the natural chemistry. It was such a privilege to capture Alejandra and Ruben’s love for each other. 🥂🍻🩷

Some of my favorite moments from my first solo wedding in 2022. My intention in the first photo was to show movement. Symbolism plays a huge role in wedding ceremonies, and as a photographer it’s my job to find/capture it. I think that movement (blurriness) shown in certain parts of the photo can create symbolism. Photojournalism style wedding photography to me is all about waiting for an organic moment to happen, and capturing it in the correct way. Slowing down my shutter speed, changing my metering, and going up one stop on my flash is a procedure I’ve been following, and how I achieved the blurriness I wanted to get in the grooms foot.
