I'm constantly chasing the real, raw, in-betweens.

The way a mother strokes her baby's toes with intense affection, the enfolding that happens just after the game that always your little one laugh with abandon, the way a child moves their hands with such intention while playing or eating.

I'm also constantly chasing the best way to photograph these moments. Where should I stand? What does the light look like? Should I get closer or back up to give space?

So here's a little sneak peek into what's running through my mind when I'm photographing people!

Why I love at home new born sessions: I always get the best photos when mama and baby are comfortable and staying home makes that a lot easier!
When I came over to photograph little Olive and her family, they had everything they needed to help her feel more comfortable during what was (considerably) a weird day in her life. What with changing outfits more often than usual, hearing a soft clicking noise from the camera, and moving to different places in the house, she was understandably a little grumpy.
But because I came to them, they had her favorite pacifier on hand, her mama was able to rest or ask dad to step in when she needed a break, and we were able to take our time making all those transitions ❤️

Truly the most giggly, giddy, adorable couple I’ve ever photographed 🥰
During engagement sessions, I usually give couples games to play with each other to help photos feel more natural and to make things a little sweeter 😉 Most of the games involve some form of talking and I loved that both Juliet and Ian had so many kind things to say to each other. I specifically enjoyed hearing how both of them really enjoy and admire how the other interacts with kids, that they’re so good with them. 🥹❤️
Juliet and Ian, I’m more thankful than I can express that you chose me to photograph your engagement. Zach and I are so excited for your wedding and to watch how you two grow closer to each other and to God in your marriage. I loved seeing how goofy you are together and hearing how many kind things you had to say to each other.
