Before this International Women’s Day comes to a close, I wanted to share something with you.
Behind almost every photo I take is the story of a woman.
A mother who hasn’t been in photos with her kids for years because she’s always the one behind the camera.
A young girl discovering her confidence.
A grandmother whose strength quietly shaped an entire family.
A woman celebrating a new chapter after a difficult one.
A business owner building an empire with the odds too often not in her favor.
Today I’m celebrating the women who step in front of my camera with courage, softness, humor, resilience, and everything in between.
My life was deeply shaped by my mom’s mom, my Nana. She grew up an orphan, overcame more adversity than most people will ever know, yet always carried herself like a true lady. She loved books, horseback riding, and was a school teacher. Even though she passed away when I was just seven, my connection to her still feels very strong. In many ways, she continues to shape how I see strength, grace, and what it means to endure.
I only have a handful of photos of my Nana, and I often wish I had more.
You deserve to exist in photographs.
Not someday. Not “when things are perfect.”
Now.
Happy Women’s Day to all the incredible women in this community and beyond.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear about a woman who shaped your life.
