Indi doesn't remember much about life before rescue.

What he does know is that one day he was out there on his own, and now there are people who tell him he's a good boy. And honestly? He thinks that's pretty great.

Every morning, Indi wakes up convinced that today might be the best day ever. Maybe there will be toys. Maybe there will be snacks. Maybe there will be a golf cart ride. Maybe there will be all three.

At 50 pounds, he's not exactly subtle about his excitement.

He's the kind of dog who greets strangers like old friends. The kind of dog who thinks everyone was put on this earth specifically to pet him. The kind of dog who wants to be included in whatever you're doing, even if it's absolutely nothing.

And while life hasn't always been easy, you would never know it from looking at him.

An old injury left Indi blind in one eye, but it doesn't slow him down in the slightest. He runs, plays, cuddles, and explores the world with the confidence of a dog who has decided that joy is more important than worrying about what happened yesterday.

That's not to say he's perfect.

There was the time he jumped a fence.

Not because he was trying to escape. Not because he was plotting a great adventure.

He simply found himself on the other side and then stood there looking confused, as if to say, "Well... this wasn't part of the plan."

Classic Indi.

He's learning his leash manners. He's learning commands. He's learning what it means to belong somewhere. Most of all, he's learning that people can be kind.

Now all he needs is a family.

A family to laugh at his goofy moments. A family to throw his toys. A family to share their couch. A family to show him that the greatest adventure isn't searching for lost treasure...

It's finally finding home.

Meet Lucid... although his foster family calls him Nike.... need to know why? Scroll for context..... And honestly? The name fits.

Why?

Because this kid's motto is basically: Just Do It.

Lost a leg? Just do it.
Learn to run on three legs? Just do it.
Climb into your lap for kisses? Definitely just do it.

Nike came into animal control with an old injury that never healed properly, and amputation was the best option. But if nobody told him he's missing a leg, he'd never know. This 30ish lb, 10-month-old puppy is zooming through life like he was born a tripod.

He's friendly, affectionate, snack-motivated, and fully believes that your lap belongs to him. He's still learning about toys and puppy manners, so he'd love a patient family—and according to his foster, he'd really benefit from having a doggie mentor to show him the ropes.

His current canine roommate is a little bit senior and has retired from teaching Puppy Kindergarten. 😅

Nike's past wasn't great, but he's not spending any time looking in the rearview mirror. He's focused on finding a family, a couch, and a future full of love.

Meet Birri... although around his foster home, he's better known as Walter. And honestly? Walter sounds exactly like the kind of veteran player every team wishes they had in the clubhouse.

At 7 years old and 68 pounds, Walter isn't some rookie prospect trying to prove himself. He's a seasoned veteran who's already figured out the game. No chewing your cleats. No unnecessary drama. No wild puppy errors in the field. Just a steady, dependable teammate who shows up every day ready to love his people.

We recently suited Walter up in a Royal Oak Leprechauns jersey at Memorial Park, and he looked like he was ready to sign autographs between innings. His stats are impressive:

🏆 Batting Average: .1000 at winning hearts
🏆 Home Runs: Countless belly-rub requests launched into the stands
🏆 Stolen Bases: One couch cushion and several foster hearts

Walter's favorite plays include leisurely walks, hanging out with his humans, collecting pets from fans, and taking well-earned naps between innings.

And speaking of baseball... the Royal Oak Leprechauns are hosting Bark in the Park tonight, where dogs are welcome at the game. Walter thinks that's a pretty great idea, but what he'd really like is a permanent season ticket holder to take him home.

This lovable brindle slugger came to the shelter as a stray, but he's ready to leave free agency behind and sign a lifetime contract with a family of his own.
