Sorry, not sorry, but you’re all going to just have to accept that I’m going to be posting a million pictures of beams of light through the redwoods. They’re all going to look similar but I can guarantee to you that they’re all different and were taken about 4 seconds apart from each other when some v***r drifted into focus a little bit better than it was before. This will go on for several weeks, and possibly months, and at the very least, until I take another trip. Thank you for your concern.

While I was able to finish my quest to see all nine Californian National Parks with Lassen Volcanic National Park back in 2023, I hadn’t been to Redwood National Park since 2017 and that was a VERY long time ago, in terms of photography. This trip gave me the opportunity to capture the park with the tools (and hopefully skills) that it deserves. So, here’s all of California’s splendors in its National Parks. California is a wonderland. It amazes me how many environments can be found in one state and how the rich diversity of the land lends itself to any mood and any adventure you wish to have.

San Francisco is a theme park. And I mean that in the most complimentary way possible; San Francisco, no matter where you are, has a unified aesthetic and feels like it follows some master plan and cohesive art design. The quality of light, the colors, the textures… there’s no place like it.

It’s so good to be back in San Francisco and Golden Gate National Recreation Area. San Francisco is one of those cities that I can come to, spend time in, and not have a plan for anything except drinking it all in. When the scenery looks like this, a plan isn’t needed. To me, San Francisco’s magic is found in the interplay of soft light and muted colors, the texture of the cool and salty air, and the quiet electricity in the air that this city exudes. And at night? Even in the rain? The glow of the Golden Gate Bridge and the skyline beyond it is a dreamscape.

Time to go.
