Raise your hand if you have a goal to be more consistent about posting on social media!

That was me a few years ago. I would be consistent for a spurt and then I'd just get so sick of looking at Facebook or Instagram or LinkedIn.

I would think this is so dumb, we are all doing the same stupid stuff all the time and I would give up. In the meantime, my competitors and friends were posting the great work they were doing and I was feeling left out and behind!

A few years ago, I made a big investment in 1:1 business coaching and really improved my business. When we wrapped up our coaching, I asked "What next?". My coach suggested that I invest the money I had been paying her into getting an assistant to help me with some of the tasks in my business. So I went for it!

Since then, I've posted at least 3 times every week on social media and consistently grown my business with much less stress and worry!

I want to show you how I started to get my content organized and ready to pass on to an assistant. This way you can keep up yourself or maybe even hire someone to help you!

Funny thing… the posts of me and my family almost always do better than my “marketing” posts.

And honestly, there’s a reason.

People want to know the person behind the business.

Whether you’re hiring a photographer, joining a workshop, shopping with a stylist, or supporting a local business — connection matters. People want to know who they’re working with, what you value, and what makes you you.

In a world of perfectly polished content and AI everything, being a real human online matters more than ever.

It’s always a bit awkward when we get started so I brought along Star Wars light sabers to loosen everyone up.

I had learned in the consultation that Hannah and her dad were Star Wars fans so what better way to be playful than a light saber battle? I knew these wouldn’t be the yearbook photos, but they got us all laughing from the start - that and the fact that I couldn't get one to turn off the whole night and had to put it in my trunk because the sound was so annoying!!

Hannah is a bright soul which I first learned from her step-mom in our initial phone call. As we talked through possible locations and her interests, Glen Haven Beach eventually became the place of choice.

When Hannah said “Can I chase the seagulls?” I immediately said “YES!” We did some light sabering, running, hiking, sweating, and near-swimming for this beautiful senior portrait session on Lake Michigan lakeshore.
