Four years ago, they met on the second day of freshman year.
Four years later, they graduated together with degrees in neuroscience.
Some friendships are only meant for a season.
Some somehow become part of the story.
Before graduation, we spent an evening on WVU’s campus creating these photos to celebrate everything they’d accomplished together.
The degrees.
The late-night studying.
The exams.
The stress.
The memories.
The friendship that carried them through it all.
What makes this session especially meaningful for me is that one of these girls is my niece, Camryn.
Just a few hours before I was supposed to leave for graduation weekend, I came down with the stomach flu and wasn’t able to make the trip.
It was the first major milestone in either of my nieces’ lives that I’ve ever missed.
Thankfully, we had already created these images.
And looking back now, they mean even more to me.
Because while I missed the ceremony, I didn’t miss the celebration.
I got to spend an evening with two incredible young women at the exact moment their college chapter was coming to a close.
Camryn and Isabella—
I am so proud of the women you’ve become, the friendship you’ve built, and everything you’ve accomplished.
Here’s to whatever comes next. I have no doubt you will change lives and do big things.🤍
