Frying Pan Lake (Waimangu Cauldron) in New Zealand is the world’s largest hot spring, located in the Waimangu Volcanic Rift Valley near Rotorua, formed after the 1886 eruption of Mount Tarawera. It’s known for its steaming, acidic, and hot water (averaging 50-60°C or 122-140°F), making swimming impossible, but it’s a major geothermal attraction accessible via the Waimangu Trail, offering stunning views of its unique landscape.

Certainly a different look for my photography.
The dark reddish-orange coloration of rocks in New Zealand is primarily caused by the oxidation of ferromagnesium minerals and the presence of iron oxide minerals (such as hematite) within the stone.
Trying to see some things in a different way.

One New Zealand Stadium in aerial print captures Christchurch's newest landmark glowing beneath dramatic New Zealand skies. This Christchurch stadium wall art showcases the iconic covered arena surrounded by the rolling Port Hills, creating a striking cityscape photography piece for any home or office.
Photographed from above during blue hour, this image highlights the modern architecture of One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha as evening lights begin to shine across the city. Soft sunset colors blend with stormy skies to create a powerful contrast over Christchurch’s recovering skyline. Home to the Crusaders rugby team, this stadium has quickly become one of New Zealand’s most recognizable sporting venues.
Perfect for rugby fans, New Zealand travelers, architecture lovers, or anyone connected to Christchurch. This aerial print makes an eye-catching statement piece for living rooms, offices, sports rooms, or modern spaces.

The drone hovered high above the Blue River in New Zealand while I pointed the camera straight down toward the water below. From above, the river looked like liquid glass, glowing deep turquoise as it flowed over smooth stones hidden beneath the surface. White currents twisted through darker pools like ribbons of silk, creating patterns that constantly shifted with the movement of the water.

The sound of the river echoed through the valley, a steady roar mixed with the softer rustle of wind moving through the trees along the banks. The cool air carried the smell of wet rock, fresh moss, and rain-soaked earth from the forest surrounding the river. Occasionally the scent of pine drifted past as the breeze swept through the canyon.

Watching the drone footage on the screen felt mesmerizing. Looking straight down transformed the river into abstract art, a living painting of blues, whites, and emerald greens moving endlessly through the wilderness.

The uphill hike to Kitekite Falls led through the lush rainforest of New Zealand’s Waitākere Ranges, where the air smelled of wet earth and moss. Carrying my camera gear along the steep trail, I could hear the waterfall long before it came into view. As the path opened, Kitekite Falls appeared cascading down dark volcanic cliffs into a glowing turquoise pool surrounded by vibrant green rainforest.

What made the moment unforgettable was the silence. Early in the morning, there was nobody else there except us, only the sound of rushing water echoing through the canyon. Mist drifted across the pool while soft light revealed every texture in the moss-covered rock walls. I carefully set up my tripod near the water’s edge and captured the falls in a long exposure, smoothing the flowing water into silky white ribbons.

The photograph became more than an image; it captured the reward of the uphill hike and the rare solitude of experiencing Kitekite Falls.

The wonderful Kitekite Falls in New Zealand. The grandeur could only be seen from the sky. From below we only thought there were three falls.

This was an amazing experience. Once in a lifetime trip.....? I hope not.
