📷 Where It Started Wednesday | Week 4: More Than Just a Truck 🚘
Welcome back to Where It Started Wednesday! Last week, we climbed trees with my best friend. This week, we're headed to a car show.
One of my favorite memories growing up was going to car shows with my dad. He had a little cream-colored Chevy truck, and we'd spend weekends walking around admiring all the classic cars.
A few years later, after countless hours in the garage, my dad and my brother Luke finally got their own classic Chevy truck running.
It wasn't just a project.
It was their project.
Their conversations.
Their weekends.
Their time together.
Before my dad sold the truck, I asked if I could take it out for one last photoshoot.
Not because it was an old truck...
But because I knew it was so much more than that.
Looking back, I think this was one of the first times I realized that photographs aren't always about what you're looking at.
Sometimes they're about what they represent.
To someone else, this is just an old Chevy.
To me, it's years of Saturdays, car shows, grease-covered hands, laughter, and memories with my dad and my brother.
Maybe that's why I photograph the way I do today.
When I photograph your wedding dress, your grandmother's ring, your baby's tiny toes, or your dad wiping away a tear before walking you down the aisle... I'm not just photographing things.
I'm preserving the stories they'll represent years from now.
❤️ See y'all next Wednesday for another trip down memory lane.
