Since we are working our way through this Vermont summer, it got me thinking about one of my favorite senior sessions with Alyssa in 2019. I think it sticks out because the location we worked at was so great, and she is a wonderful person to work with. Plus, the photos are some of the best work I have produced in my opinion. This song sparrow was announcing its presence on a recent outing and was bathed in warm early morning sunshine so I decided to make a few images. It was cooperative enough to even allow me to pull out a tripod while he was singing. Nothing more peaceful than being in nature just after dawn enjoying the sights and sounds. Z9 and 500mm F4

I was out earlier this week on a lovely Vermont morning looking for wildlife when I found this song sparrow announcing his presence and living up to its name. This family of geese was also enjoying the morning but were scaring me by going back and forth across a state highway when I decided to stop. Loving what my new combo is producing with the Z9 and 500mm F4 adapted to the Z mount. Super sharp and a real bargain as a used lens.

Over the winter, I was asked to do a shoot of Hank, an Irish Wolf Hound who's owners were seeking remembrance photos of him as he was soon to pass over the rainbow bridge. I believe this was the coldest day we had this winter so the shoot had to be indoors. Fortunately, I had the right equipment and I was able to get these photos with just one light in their living room.

Hank was such a good boy to work with and we even got a few shots of his sister Nola who was there for support. His owners and I were pleased with the results but I cannot still be sad that he is now with our dogs who are missing from our family. I hope they are all friends now.

Dog photography is a new aspect of my work and I'm looking forward to working more with the animals I love.

A juxtaposition here in this photo. A sign of spring with birds returning, yet winter is hanging in there in Vermont with a spring snow storm this afternoon. Shot from my back porch with the Z9 and the Sigma 500mm f4 DG, a new lens I acquired and am testing out before 'something serious' presents itself.
