Today, we honor a woman who taught generations of women that you never have to make yourself smaller to make other people comfortable.
Dolly Parton was glamorous, unapologetically feminine, intelligent, ambitious, compassionate and completely herself. She showed women that loving beauty, dressing boldly, embracing your sexuality, being soft, being strong, and taking up space can all exist together.
She built an empire while staying true to who she was. She turned her voice into a career, her dreams into businesses, and her success into opportunities for others.
And perhaps most importantly, Dolly never made women feel like they had to compete with one another. She celebrated women.
That is something we want to carry forward in our bo***ir community.
You are allowed to feel beautiful.
You are allowed to be sensual.
You are allowed to be confident.
You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to become whoever the hell you want to be.
