Finally... after 3 days at Pelée and tough conditions and not much action, our chance turned a bit in this tiny pond, right off the entrance of Tilden Trail (walking from 7am-1pm - saw it at 12:30). This warbler is so colourful😀

On a cold and foggy morning, I was driving towards Rouyn-Noranda, when I saw a sign for a covered-bridge. Not long after taking that left turn, I saw a group of more than 80 Sandhill Cranes. They unfortunately walked away as soon as I stopped the car, but I was able to grab a few shots of them parading. Here, one grabbed a small branch/root and started dancing around.

One of 3500 pics with the grebes in this amazing sunny day.

I had never seen this behaviour before, maybe due to bad/grey weather every time in the previous years I came in Abitibi to observe these birds. But this time it was very warm and sunny, and flies were buzzing around. Grebes were extending their neck and making a very slight buzz to seemingly attract a fly, and catch it flying. An easy way to feed while nesting.
