Don’t wait until graduation to celebrate them. ❤️

One of my favorite things about being a family photographer lately?

Photographing kids who aren’t really kids anymore.

For years, I documented first steps, missing teeth, and tiny hands holding Mom and Dad’s fingers. But as my own kids get older, I’ve come to realize that these seasons deserve to be remembered too.

The confidence. The personality. The young adult they’re becoming.

As a girl dad, I genuinely loved photographing this young lady and her family. (And yes, her brother is the one graduating—his photos are coming soon! 🤩)

So here’s a little reminder for all the families with older kids:

You don’t need a graduation, milestone, or special occasion to celebrate who they are right now.

Give them a hug. Tell them you love them. Tell them how proud you are of the person they’re becoming.

These years matter too. ✨

I’ve only recently started photographing senior sessions, and I’m quickly realizing why so many people love them.

There’s something really special about capturing this milestone, not just for the graduate, but for the family who has been part of the journey every step of the way.

I’m incredibly grateful to be trusted with moments like these. Being able to preserve memories from such an exciting season of life is something I don’t take for granted.

Definitely looking forward to capturing more stories like this. 🎓✨

The awning at this venue creates a strong yellow color cast but it can be corrected with editing. Can you tell? 😊

Regardless, it doesn’t take away from the beautiful decor, exciting atmosphere, and great memories. Thank you for allowing me to capture these moments for little Alyson.

Videography captures memories in a way that feels incredibly immersive. I love how it pulls you into the moment — the movement, the emotion, the little details that might otherwise go unnoticed. It tells a story differently than photography, bringing memories back to life in a way you can truly feel. Can’t wait to share the photos from this beautiful first birthday celebration as well.

First birthdays aren’t just celebrations. They are once in a lifetime milestones filled with wonder, joy, and the kind of moments that pass too quickly. Capturing these memories isn’t just something I do. It is what I specialize in and genuinely love. Every child is such a gift, and being trusted to preserve these early, meaningful chapters is something I never take for granted.

Eleven years into my photography journey and first birthday celebrations are still my favorite. I loved everything about this one, from the warmth of the people to the beautiful event design.
