I try to stay neutral on here most of the time. Today, though, is National Mascot Day, and I have to show love to my favorite mascot, the Jayhawk... specifically Baby Jay (sorry Big Jay).

Fun fact: Baby Jay "hatched" during the halftime of Kansas' homecoming football game vs. Kansas State University in 1971. She is the creation of KU student Amy Hurst.

Here’s what I know about the World Cup (so far). Lawrence has fully embraced Team Algeria, and the Scots have taken over Boston. And I love both scenarios. 🇩🇿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I want to give a big thank you to our local meteorologists who worked hard (and late) to keep us all informed. Also, much appreciation to our first responders, utility workers & tree service professionals out there working to get our community up and going.

Today, we remember the tragic 1966 tornado. From 91 years old to 5 years old, 15 people lost their lives that day. Over 500 were injured. Thousands were left emotionally and mentally scarred.

This event has become a divider in Topeka's history. I'll hear people compare the Topeka that is, versus the Topeka that was... before the tornado.

Just a little light reading. 🤣

While visiting Salina, I stopped by Red Fern Booksellers and both books called to me. Specifically, I noticed the covers.
