We took a little vacation to Virginia Beach last month, where I spent most of my summers growing up. From 8 months old to a high schooler, I would fly out to visit my grandma, feed ducks on the inlet, dive for sinkers and do flips in the pool, spend all afternoon getting covered in sand at the beach, walking up the boardwalk, shopping for souvenirs, going to Norfolk, the Marine Science Museum, the water park, you name it! I have many fond memories. A trip to the beach hasn't been in the cards in several years so this was a special one and my daughters first! She is 8 years old. She swam in the same pool I did as a kid, enjoyed visiting the same places I did, as well as a few new ones, and had a blast making a splash in the ocean, finding sea shells, touching sting rays, sharks, and more.
