“Waking up in the morning is a miracle of its own. Be thankful for another day to experience life and be grateful that you get another opportunity to continue on that incredible journey.” Roger Lee
The political rhetoric and hatred is in full force ahead of November. FB posts are ramping up with hatred and arguments between friends, family members, and even people we don’t know, just because we want to engage in an argument to TRY to spew our OPINION! Facts are driving very few of the very heated discussions I see on threads, it’s more a matter of deep, intense personal feelings that we are trying to force upon others. To have those personal feelings is a great thing, truly. But to discount others feelings, believing your opinion is right for everything and everyone is bull💩!!! To be honest, I do see posts from friends and family that somewhat astound me as to why they espouse such vilification against others like they do. BUT, their opinions and feelings, in no way discount how I view them as a friend or loved one, and won’t, because frankly, if we all had the same exact ideals, we have become I-robots and clones, and honestly done think we want to live in that robot world. And frankly, I love and care for my family and friends enough that their differing views will never drive me away, that’s just silly to lose people in our lives over politics, I feel very strongly about that. Social media arguing is pointless, never solves anything, and truly is a waste of your valuable moments in life, but yet we are spending a lot of time engaging in it.
I’m a middle of the road guy. Not one party platform solves all my perceived woes, or is best for my family and future. We are creating our own problems, even mentally, by feeling like social media will fix our “perceived” problems. It’s not as simple as all red or all blue. It has to be a mix. Period. But as The Long Road Home Tree is strikingly green against a Canadian wildfire smoke filled sunrise, and as Roger “Lee says, I do try to wake up thankful for another day to experience life, because just that in itself, for that day, is worth it to me.
Folks, be better, do better, feel better. Respect differing views. And get outdoors, away from the the city and everyone, by yourself, sit under a tree in the country, close your eyes, listen and breathe. Just listen and breathe.
